Keepsake Video Productions was established in Rock Island, IL in 1996 as a way for local TV viewers to obtain copies of local newscasts that may have featured themselves, their loved ones, their places of business or just a story that caught their interest. Some people attempt to record a newscast but miss it due to an equipment malfunction, mis-programming of their VCR, or a power outage in their neighborhood. Sometimes, the VCR records just as programmed, only to record a sporting event that ran late rather than the newscast that was intended. That's why we're here. We do everything in our power to record all of the local newscast here in the Illinois/Iowa Quad Cities every day! That means that we record over 2,700 hours of news and local programming every year! All of our VCR's are backed up with battery power in case of a power outage. We keep a close eye on the local TV listings and adjust our recording schedules accordingly when we suspect a sporting event may interfere with the starting time of a local newscast.
